Rocky Point is a former fishing village found along the Northeastern shore of the Sea of Cortez. The city of Puerto Penasco, also known as Rocky Point is a great destination for North American travelers all year long. The beautiful beaches offer warm water and are often referred to as “Arizona’s waterfront”. The tides are known for their incredible changes and the swimming and snorkeling is excellent. You can fish, watch the dolphins and in February see the migration of whales all while enjoying our picturesque “old port”.
With a current population of over 25,000, Rocky Point has a colorful history and a vast array of choices while visiting this friendly city on the water. We hope you have an opportunity to visit and explore the unlimited possibilities of Rocky Point.
The sun shines almost all year round in Rocky Point. The weather is one of the main reasons people visit Rocky Point. Rocky Point experiences only 2 inches of rain a year so a dry trip with plenty of sunshine is pretty much guaranteed. For most of the year the days are sunny and warm. During the winter months the days are warm although the nights can get a bit chilly.
The summer months, especially June through September can be warm because the 90-degree plus temperatures combine with high humidity. However, because the water temperature is above 80 degrees and there is almost always an ocean breeze to produce pleasant evenings, some people find this time of the year to be their favorite.
Yearly Averages: Rainfall:
2 inches -- mostly in December and January
and late summer.
Temperatures:
Dec. to Feb. - 40-75 F°
March to May - 60-80 F°
June to Aug. - 68-98 F°
Sept. to Nov. - 62-84 F
Rocky Point Mexico has been known by many as Arizona’s beach and although times have changed with less tourism from Arizona we are starting to see this beautiful beachfront community getting found by people all over the US and Canada.
Beyond our unique location, Rocky Point Mexico has amazing weather 9 months out of the year. The water temperatures average 80 degrees year round with clear sunny skys and a beach that is second to none. There are a great deal of different beach front areas in Rocky Point from Mayan Palace to Cholla bay – there is truly something for everyone.
From the beautiful beach front homes in areas like Costa Diamante, Playa Encanto and Las Conchas to the amazing condos with luxury finishing like Puerta Privada www.puertaprivada.info again something for everyone. If time is limited equity shares are a great opportunity to come visit but not have to pay nearly as much. With 1/8th shares consisting of 6 weeks for your usage spread out evenly through the year – we often say if you can get out of town and on the beach 6 times a year you are doing great.
To do in Rocky Point – the options are endless but here are a couple, hanging out on the beach with family and friends. If there was a top ten this would definitely be number one. Why because due to our busy schedules it happens less than we would all like. Beyond this great past time we have ATV rentals, sunset cruises, amazing common areas at our projects with swim up bars and lazy rivers, great restaurants, clubs and top shelf sunsets that require minimal activity ( watching ).
The best is yet to come for Rocky Point and although we are off to a great start we have a ways to go. The real opportunity is the one most only see after it is to late with those common words I wish I would have known then what I know now. The prices are awesome and lots to chose from.
Give us a call and let us help you in living the good life down here in Rocky Point Mexico.
It’s a good life!
