Ten Reasons to buy Mexico Real Estate in Year 2010

Missed the Mexico Real Estate bus in the year 2009? Year 2010 is approaching fast. After a rollercoaster ride in 2009, what does the year 2010 holds for Mexico Real Estate? One thing is for sure, recession is nearing its end worldwide and the coming year promises to be a lot better year for Mexico Real Estate.

1) Emerging Markets leading:

the fight against recession: Developing countries with great growth outlook like China , India and Brazil have taken the lead in fighting recession and have seen registered growth in economy even as the developed countries were trying to get out of recession.
Mexico due to it's proximity to United States and low manpower cost is poised to be the next success story.

2) Secure and Stable Economic Environment:

If you scratch the surface beneath those exaggerated news reports on crime and H1N1 flu, you will find that a large part of Mexico is peaceful and stable. Mexico is very popular with tourists, retirees, expats and real estate investors and this is a proof that Mexico is a safe & secure investment destination. This makes it very conducive to future economic growth.

3) Upward trend in Mortgage Loans:

Mexico mortgage lending is slated to boom next year which means increased liquidity in market leading to increased buying. With market flush with money, the demand will rise and hence, prices will go up. Investors buying early in 2010 stand to gain more due to prospect of increase in Mexico Real estate prices later.

4) Improvement in Infrastructure:

Mexico is witnessing government spending in the area of infrastructure development. New airport in Rocky Point, improvement in highway and road network, all will bring good news in the year 2010.

5) High Quality healthcare:

Mexico offers high standards of healthcare services. For this reason, for decades, retirees have been living in Mexico without any concern regarding the quality and price of healthcare.

6) Tropical Climate:

The warm, sunny climate in Mexico makes it irresistible to people seeking relief from cold weather in their native counties like Canada.

7) Dollar vs. Peso:

The US dollar continues to get stronger and hence living costs in Mexico are cheaper then they were a year back and quality of life in Mexico is just as in US or Canada.

8) Favored destination for celebrities:

Mexico is a favorite destination for Hollywood and other celebrities with many owning Real Estate in Mexico . There is a good chance that you may get to see a Hollywood actor/actress in Mexico.

9) World class Real Estate developments:

Mexico offers world class and a wide range of real estate projects. From beachfront villas to condos to traditional houses, Mexico has a lot to offer for everyone.

Talking about Coffee filters...

And did you know all this about coffee filters.... YIKES

COFFEE FILTERS

Coffee filters ..who knew! And you can buy 1,000 at the Dollar Tree for almost nothing.

1. Cover bowls or dishes when cooking in the microwave. Coffee filters make excellent covers.

2. Clean windows and mirrors. Coffee filters are lint-free so they'll leave windows sparkling.

3. Protect ChinaSeparate your good dishes by putting a coffee filter between each dish.

4. Filter broken cork from wine. If you break the cork when opening a wine bottle, filter the wine through a coffee filter.

5. Protect a cast-iron skillet. Place a coffee filter in the skillet to absorb moisture and prevent rust.

6. Apply shoe polish. Ball up a lint-free coffee filter.

7. Recycle frying oil. After frying, strain oil through a sieve lined with a coffee filter.

8. Weigh chopped foods. Place chopped ingredients in a coffee filter on a kitchen scale.

9. Hold tacos. Coffee filters make convenient wrappers for messy foods.

10. Stop the soil from leaking out of a plant pot. Line a plant pot with a coffee filter to prevent the soil from going through the drainage holes.

11. Prevent a Popsicle from dripping. Poke one or two holes as needed in a coffee filter.

12. Do you think we used expensive strips to wax eyebrows? Use strips of coffee filters.

13.. Put a few in a plate and put your fried bacon, French fries, chicken fingers, etc on them. Soaks out all the grease.

14. Keep in the bathroom. They make great "razor nick fixers."

OH YEAH THEY ARE GREAT TO USE IN YOUR COFFEE MAKERS

About heart attacks...

Something that we can do to help ourselves. Nice to know

Bayer is making crystal aspirin to dissolve under the tongue.. They work much faster than the tablets.

Why keep aspirin by your bedside?

There are other symptoms of an heart attack besides the pain on the left arm.
One must also be aware of an intense pain on the chin, as well as nausea and lots of sweating, however these symptoms may also occur less frequently.

Note: There may be NO pain in the chest
during a heart attack. The majority of people (about 60%) who had a heart attack during their sleep, did not wake up. However, if it occurs, the chest pain may wake you up from your deep sleep.

If that happens, immediately dissolve two
aspirins in your mouth and swallow them with a bit of water.

Afterwards:
- phone a neighbor or a family member who lives very close by
- say "heart attack!"
- say that you have taken 2 aspirins..
- take a seat on a chair or sofa near the front door, and wait for their arrival and...
~ do NOT lie down ~

A Cardiologist has stated that, if each person, after receiving this e-mail, sends it to 10 people, probably one life can be saved!

I have already shared the information- -
What about you?

This information was in The New York Times several weeks ago as part of
their "Spotlight on the Home" series that highlighted creative and
fanciful ways to solve common problems.
1. Cucumbers contain most of the vitamins you need every day, just one
cucumber contains Vitamin B1, Vitamin B2, Vitamin B3, Vitamin B5,
Vitamin B6,Folic Acid, Vitamin C, Calcium, Iron, Magnesium, Phosphorus, Potassium
and Zinc.
2. Feeling tired in the afternoon, put down the caffeinated soda and
pick up a cucumber. Cucumbers are a good source of B Vitamins and Carbohydrates
that can provide that quick pick-me-up that can last for hours.
3. Tired of your bathroom mirror fogging up after a shower? Try
rubbing a cucumber slice along the mirror, it will eliminate the fog and
provide a soothing, spa-like fragrance.
4. Are grubs and slugs ruining your planting beds? Place a few
slices in a small pie tin and your garden will be free of pests all
season long. The chemicals in the cucumber react with the aluminum to give
off a scent undetectable to humans but drive garden pests crazy and make them FLEE THE AREA.
5. Looking for a fast and easy way to remove cellulite before going out
or to the pool? Try rubbing a slice or two of cucumbers along your
problem area for a few minutes, the phytochemicals in the cucumber
cause the collagen in your skin to tighten, firming up the outer layer and
reducing the visibility of cellulite. Works great on wrinkles too!!!
6. Want to avoid a hangover or terrible headache? Eat a few
cucumber slices before going to bed and wake up refreshed and headache
free. Cucumbers contain enough sugar, B vitamins and electrolytes to
replenish essential nutrients the body lost, keeping everything in
equilibrium, avoiding both a hangover and headache!!
7. Looking to fight off that afternoon or evening snacking binge?
Cucumbers have been used for centuries and often used by European
trappers, traders and explores for quick meals to thwart off starvation.
8. Have an important meeting or job interview and you realize that you
don't have enough time to polish your shoes? Rub a freshly cut cucumber
over the shoe, its chemicals will provide a quick and durable shine
that not only looks great but also repels water.
9. Out of WD 40 and need to fix a squeaky hinge? Take a cucumber
slice and rub it along the problematic hinge, and voila, the squeak is gone!
10. Stressed out and don't have time for massage, facial or visit to
the spa? Cut up an entire cucumber and place it in a boiling pot of water,
the chemicals and nutrients from the cucumber with react with the
boiling water and be released in the steam, creating a soothing, relaxing aroma that
has been shown to reduce stress in new mothers and college students during
final exams.
11. Just finish a business lunch and realize you don't have gum or
mints? Take a slice of cucumber and press it to the roof of your mouth
with your tongue for 30 seconds to eliminate bad breath, the
phytochemcials will kill the bacteria in your mouth responsible for causing bad breath.
12. Looking for a 'green'20way to clean your faucets, sinks or stainless
steel? Take a slice of cucumber and rub it on the surface you want to
clean, not only will it remove years of tarnish and bring back the
shine, but is won't leave streaks and won't harm you fingers or fingernails while you clean.
13. Using a pen and made a mistake? Take the outside of the
cucumber and slowly use it to erase the pen writing, also works great on
crayons and markers that the kids have used to decorate the walls!!

Have a great day.

Truth or H1N1?

In 1919 when the flu killed 40 million
people there was this Doctor that visited the many
farmers to see if he could help them combat the flu.
Many of the farmers and their family had contracted it
and many died.

The doctor came upon this one farmer and to his
surprise, everyone was very healthy. When the doctor
asked what the farmer was doing that was different the wife replied
that she had placed an unpeeled onion in a dish in the
rooms of the home, (probably only two rooms back then)
The doctor couldn't believe it and asked if he could
have one of the onions and place it under the
microscope. She gave him one and when he did this, he
did find the flu virus in the onion.
It obviously absorbed the bacteria, therefore, keeping the
family healthy.

Now, I heard this story from my hairdresser in AZ.
She said that several years ago many of her employees were
coming down with the flu and so were many of her customers.
The next year she placed several bowls with onions around in her
shop. T o her surprise, none of her staff got sick. It must work.
(And no, she is not in the onion business.)

The moral of the story is, buy some onions and place
them in bowls around your home. If you work at a
desk, place one or two in your office or under your
desk or even on top somewhere. Try it and see
what happens. We did it last year and we never got the flu.

If this helps you and your loved ones from
getting sick, all the better. If you do get the flu,
it just might be a mild case.

Whatever, what have you to lose? Just
a few bucks on onions!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Now there is a P. S. to this for I sent it to a friend in
Oregon who regularly contributes material to me on health issues.
She replied with this most interesting experience about onions.

Thanks for the reminder. I don't know about
the farmers story...but, I do know that I contacted
pneumonia and needless to say I was very ill...I came across
an article that said to cut both ends off an onion put one
end on a fork and then place the forked end into an
empty jar...placing the jar next to the sick patient at
night. It said the onion would be black in the morning from the
germs...sure enough it happened just like that...the onion
was a mess and I began to feel better..

Another thing I read in the article was that onions
and garlic placed around the room saved many from the black
plague years ago. They have powerful antibacterial,
antiseptic properties.

Have a great day.

Outdoor Furniture The Challenge of Outdoor Furniture for Seaside Living

Whether you have owned a beach property before or not, you are probably amazed at how the elements including the salty air is not necessarily the best—even the life expectancy of a house at the beach is considerably shorter. That is why you must be really careful when choosing outdoor furniture. Here's some information to help out in your decision-making process, including some tips and considerations.

Before you go shopping, it would be wise to ask yourself some questions:
  • Will my outdoor furniture be used only by me and my family, or will it be for a rental property?
  • Will I have space for a seating area large enough for more than two people?
  • Will my terrace or patio be used occasionally to entertain or perhaps have a nice dinner with my spouse or friends?
  • Will the furniture have to stay outdoors or could it be stored?
  • Will my outdoor furniture follow a specific design or theme, maybe traditional, eclectic or transitional?
  • How much time will I be willing to spend looking after furniture?
Now let's begin:

Teak is one of the most durable woods in the market, it goes from reddish brown to silver gray once it has weathered; you can prevent it from happening if you take care of it with special oil or stain.

Outdoor wicker: Rattan, water hyacinth, sea grass, banana leaves, bamboo and the like, add the tropical and classical feel we all like when we are in a vacation site. The beauty of the natural materials will last longer in an enclosed area, however, most of it will not do so well at full exposure to the elements.

Wrought iron is a very sturdy material ideal for windy areas, available in a variety of designs. Just keep in mind that, even with the best of treatments, iron will still rust. So, think twice about it if you need it for a beach home. If feel you are going to miss the enchantment of the iron work, guess what? Nowadays you can get cast aluminum in the traditional look of iron, especially if you want keep a Mexican design for your home.

Resin and cast aluminum: These two elements will do wonders together. They are usually weather proof, care and rust free. All you need to do is hose them down, vacuum them once in a while and your set will look like new! Perfect for rental properties. Just a small piece of advice: Check the weight of them, because on a windy day you don't want any of your chairs to end up somewhere else than on your terrace!

As far as fabric is concerned you'll find quite a large selection of patterns and colors. For fabric to endure the weather, it has to be polyester based, vinyl or acrylic, so it dries quickly and resists mildew. Keep in mind that even the most water-resistant fabrics will break down when they sit outside for too long without use. Therefore, storing fabric will extend the life and beauty of your cushions. Remember, cushions will be basically the only thing you will want to replace after a few years; but, you'll probably love to change colors and patterns anyway, right?

Culture shot for Rocky Point !!!

For all that haven't heard yet about the main event we will have next weekend here in RP:

The Festival Internacional Cervantino (International Cervantes Culture Festival) is an annual festival of performing arts and culture held in the city of Guanajuato, Mexico, celebrating the cultural contributions of Miguel de Cervantes.

The Cervantino festival started when students of the University of Guanajuato presented the entremeses (farces) of Cervantes in the city's colonial plazas. Slowly these plays grew in importance, until the local government took interest. Guanajuato had recently been named a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and the city sought to become a center of national and international tourism. The first Festival Internacional Cervantino began September 29th, 1972. Today the festival is sponsored by the federal government of Mexico, Consejo Nacional para la Cultura y las Artes (the National Council on Culture and the Arts) and the government of the state of Guanajuato.

The festival takes place every October (specific dates vary) and features world-class performances by international and Mexican acts, in music, dance, theater, visual arts, and street-performance. Every year the festival invites a different country of honor, as well as a specific Mexican state, to bring traditional and contemporary performances from that region. The attendance is very wide, drawing spectators from throughout Mexico and the world and often tickets to performances (as well as local hotels) are booked months in advance.

Mexico withdrawals

I am inviting you to read this great article from Anita Kaltenbaugh:

Who doesn't love an ocean? Nature created this vast entity bigger than all of us, teeming with life and energy to enrich our lives. Something happens to me when I gaze at the water, something wonderful. The closeness of the sea fills my soul with calmness, liberating any stress I may be holding tight inside and energizing my spirit.

Just returning from two weekends in Southern California brought me to the realization that I love all oceans. Waves breaking, blue straight horizons as far as the eye can see and soft sand for walking on and lounging on, relaxing as if the work world stopped and there is not a care in the world as you sit by the water's edge.

Yes, I love all oceans, but after two weekends in Southern California I have a strong urge, deep passion bubbling up inside me to go back to my favorite body of water the Sea of Cortez in Mexico.

Now, many friends and relatives of mine live in Southern Cal so this it not a slam on their beautiful piece of the world. However, this is about urges and withdraws for something you love that rests inside your heart and nothing else can fulfill that place to create an inner feeling of peace and freedom.

Here are 7 reasons why I love the Mexican coastlines more (especially a charming little sea town called Puerto Penasco) over the California beaches.
1. Color of the water- turquoise, blue clear and clean. Warm describes the Sea of Cortez, here 9 months of the year no wet suits. I prefer my water warm, turquoise and full of glittering diamonds.

2. Can we say California traffic?- my experience in the last two weekends, no parking, drive around look for a spot to park, to go just 5 miles in a taxi- $20 cab ride, 20 minute ride in traffic to get anywhere, all day, every day. Sirens? Stayed in a hotel in La Jolla and counted 15 sirens in one night. No offense I like to park next to the beach and carry all the fun beach items 50 feet.

3. Prices- food prices, hotel prices, drink prices. Mexico even with a slower economy is less than half of the prices in Laguna Beach, La Jolla even Pacific Beach. I have credit card receipts to prove the cost difference. In Puerto Penasco you can stay in new condos for less than $100 a night. Does not exist in La Jolla, Laguna or Pacific Beach

4. Travel time from California- load your car up with all your favorite beach toys, bicycles, clothes and coolers and from Phoenix or Tuscon you can be sitting on the beach in less than 4 hours ( that includes unpacking the car and putting your chair in the sand)

5. Beaches are free in Mexico- no $10 car charge, no blocking off of the beach for walking the beach due to a resort hotel, no tags. Open to all. Best thing all the new developments are right on the beach and you can just walk back and forth to your condo or room. Economically hard to beat!

6. Rules and Regulations- Where did all the rules come from? Example of a sign in San Diego on the beach:

NO alcohol on beach
NO dogs on beach
NO smoking on Beach
NO fires on beach
NO sleeping on beach
NO vehicle on beach
NO shell picking

In Mexico go to Sandy Beach, take your cooler, your dog, your food, drinks relax and take a nap all for free. Where did all the rules come from?. It must be that inner voice inside my head but I hate to be told what to do when I'm on vacation. Beach combing of washed up shells is an age old pastime. Also, just like the Corona commercials which you know are not shot in California, you too can have a cervaza on the beach in Mexico, staring at blue water.

7. Crowds, packed bars, restaurants- on a Saturday in Pacific beach we went to three different bars to find a place to sit and have a cold beverage. I like crowds as much as the next guy at the right event but sometimes you want to be able to sit down have a drink and enjoy the view without waiting. Walking down Sandy beach with miles of empty beautiful beaches is hard to pass up.

Yes, I love the California surf just as much as the next guy but spending two crowded weekends there sure gave me the Mexico withdrawals. Sorry California friends!

I'm going to Mexico!

Jelly fish stings.... We can handle it

One of the inconvenience of being close to a very clean beach like Rocky Point is the fauna that you can found in a very uncomfortable way. Jellyfish and strings are always around the Sea of Cortez when water is too warm. Remember than the jellyfish even when they lie death on the sand of the beach are still poisonous. If for any reason, your skin touch one of their tentacles, you will feel like a burn and a rush.

Here are the steps to make sure your jellyfish sting stops hurting.

Step 1

The first step, which is the most important is to watch out for jellyfish. In the pacific ocean, where clouds of jellyfish rule, the beaches have seasons when the jellyfish wash up on shore. Ask the locals when this is and be considerably careful when you are around that time of year.
.
Step 2

When you are stung by a jellyfish, don't allow yourself the urge to immediately start itching it. While you won't feel pain at first (it will be itching) the reason you don't want to itch it is the pain will spread as itching releases the venom further.

Step 3

Immediately step into the ocean water or use vinegar to wash off the wound where you were stung by a jellyfish. This will allow the venom to be immediately be released and not further you uncomfortable feeling. Whatever you do, don't use freshwater as this will further release the venom. If you want to be extra carefull, carry a small bottle of WINDEX (yes!!! the one you use to clean the windows) and use it in case of a stung by a jellyfish.

Step 4

Take some asprin or ibuprophin if you in pain. Usually jellyfish stings hurt so you will need to control that pain. However, you may find that two asprin takes the edge off and your day continues.

Step 5

See a doctor immediately if the swelling becomes considerably concerning. While you might have sliht swelling, this should go down once the venom is washed away leaving a small hole where the tentacle was attached (nothing too noticable, but you can tell.)

Jelly Fish in Rocky Point are the well known worldwide "Portuguese man of war" and
not from deadly species, only from the uncomfortable ones.
