Truth or H1N1?
people there was this Doctor that visited the many
farmers to see if he could help them combat the flu.
Many of the farmers and their family had contracted it
and many died.
The doctor came upon this one farmer and to his
surprise, everyone was very healthy. When the doctor
asked what the farmer was doing that was different the wife replied
that she had placed an unpeeled onion in a dish in the
rooms of the home, (probably only two rooms back then)
have one of the onions and place it under the
microscope. She gave him one and when he did this, he
did find the flu virus in the onion.
It obviously absorbed the bacteria, therefore, keeping the
family healthy.
Now, I heard this story from my hairdresser in AZ.
She said that several years ago many of her employees were
coming down with the flu and so were many of her customers.
The next year she placed several bowls with onions around in her
shop. T o her surprise, none of her staff got sick. It must work.
The moral of the story is, buy some onions and place
them in bowls around your home. If you work at a
desk, place one or two in your office or under your
what happens. We did it last year and we never got the flu.
If this helps you and your loved ones from
getting sick, all the better. If you do get the flu,
it just might be a mild case.
Whatever, what have you to lose? Just
a few bucks on onions!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Now there is a P. S. to this for I sent it to a friend in
Oregon who regularly contributes material to me on health issues.
Thanks for the reminder. I don't know about
the farmers story...but, I do know that I contacted
pneumonia and needless to say I was very ill...I came across
an article that said to cut both ends off an onion put one
end on a fork and then place the forked end into an
empty jar...placing the jar next to the sick patient at
night. It said the onion would be black in the morning from the
germs...sure enough it happened just like that...the onion
was a mess and I began to feel better..
Another thing I read in the article was that onions
and garlic placed around the room saved many from the black
plague years ago. They have powerful antibacterial,
antiseptic properties.
Have a great day.

Culture shot for Rocky Point !!!
For all that haven't heard yet about the main event we will have next weekend here in RP:
The Festival Internacional Cervantino (International Cervantes Culture Festival) is an annual festival of performing arts and culture held in the city of Guanajuato, Mexico, celebrating the cultural contributions of Miguel de Cervantes.
The Cervantino festival started when students of the University of Guanajuato presented the entremeses (farces) of Cervantes in the city's colonial plazas. Slowly these plays grew in importance, until the local government took interest. Guanajuato had recently been named a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and the city sought to become a center of national and international tourism. The first Festival Internacional Cervantino began September 29th, 1972. Today the festival is sponsored by the federal government of Mexico, Consejo Nacional para la Cultura y las Artes (the National Council on Culture and the Arts) and the government of the state of Guanajuato.
The festival takes place every October (specific dates vary) and features world-class performances by international and Mexican acts, in music, dance, theater, visual arts, and street-performance. Every year the festival invites a different country of honor, as well as a specific Mexican state, to bring traditional and contemporary performances from that region. The attendance is very wide, drawing spectators from throughout Mexico and the world and often tickets to performances (as well as local hotels) are booked months in advance.
FOR THE FIRST TIME EVER, ROCKY POINT IS A SUB-HEAD OF THE FESTIVAL CERVANTINO
FRIDAY 23 AND SATURDAY 24 OCTOBER 2009

The Canoe Theory
The principles are as follows:
1. A company is like a canoe - as in, we are all in this canoe together. I'm sure you've heard people say, "We are all in this boat together." Not sure where that comes from - maybe dates back to Noah's Ark :)
2. The canoe has a direction - the company better have a vision and strategy.
3. Everyone has a seat and a paddle, and everyone is expected to paddle.
4. Those who won't paddle have to get out of the canoe.
5. Those who paddle well, but prevent others from paddling have to adjust or get out of the canoe.
6. Be understanding if someone in the canoe has a personal crisis. We will all paddle harder for a reasonable period of time while you deal with this.
7. You have the right to be happy. If you aren't happy in this canoe, let's help you find a different canoe to be in.
8. If you are going to be in this canoe, then support the canoe or have the integrity to leave, rather than stay and undermine the canoe.

What is AMPI ?
AMPI & REMAX
is the National Mexican Association of Professional Realtors. It is the ONLY Association in Mexico which is affiliated with NAR (The American Association of Realtors), and the only realty association where the consumer is protected by PROFECO (Consumer Protection Agency)
What does AMPI do for you, the consumer?
AMPI serves the public by improving education and raising the level of professionalism among it's member-realtors.
Members must continuously update code of conduct and ethics training guaranteeing the consumer better service.
In a country where real estate is still handled by anyone and everyone, the public's confusion is understandable when it comes to where to turn for professional real estate help. Here there are tens if not hundreds of organizations, which attempt to fill the void. But in Mexico there is only one national organization, which can claim to be the One and Only that has the following credentials:
1. National representation at every level in every State. This means better service and more exposure to the consumer and his/her product.
2. Recognition by the various levels of government. This means more knowledge with the laws and any revisions there to.
3. Recognition with a formal treaty with PROFECO, the National Consumer Protection Agency. Misunderstandings and conflicts may happen, so it is comforting to know that you are protected by the agency whose sole purpose is protecting you, the consumer. All AMPI members are bound by the PROFECO rules.
4. Has fifty years in existence, which translates into more experience and knowledge of the local laws and market.
5. Recognition by a mutual treaty with NAR, the National Association of Realtors of America.
6. Offering training courses of International caliber. In a world that is getting more global, dealing with qualified realtors is more and more important to avoid problems.
***The Remax/Legacy team of professionals are proud members of the Mexican Real Estate Association of AMPI...and we look forward to representing you with the utmost of integrity and highest standards of service.

I like the pictures... but what and where is Rocky Point, Puerto Penasco, Mexico?
Rocky Point is a former fishing village found along the Northeastern shore of the Sea of Cortez. The city of Puerto Penasco, also known as Rocky Point is a great destination for North American travelers all year long. The beautiful beaches offer warm water and are often referred to as “Arizona’s waterfront”. The tides are known for their incredible changes and the swimming and snorkeling is excellent. You can fish, watch the dolphins and in February see the migration of whales all while enjoying our picturesque “old port”.
With a current population of over 25,000, Rocky Point has a colorful history and a vast array of choices while visiting this friendly city on the water. We hope you have an opportunity to visit and explore the unlimited possibilities of Rocky Point.
The sun shines almost all year round in Rocky Point. The weather is one of the main reasons people visit Rocky Point. Rocky Point experiences only 2 inches of rain a year so a dry trip with plenty of sunshine is pretty much guaranteed. For most of the year the days are sunny and warm. During the winter months the days are warm although the nights can get a bit chilly.
The summer months, especially June through September can be warm because the 90-degree plus temperatures combine with high humidity. However, because the water temperature is above 80 degrees and there is almost always an ocean breeze to produce pleasant evenings, some people find this time of the year to be their favorite.
Yearly Averages: Rainfall:
2 inches -- mostly in December and January
and late summer.
Temperatures:
Dec. to Feb. - 40-75 F°
March to May - 60-80 F°
June to Aug. - 68-98 F°
Sept. to Nov. - 62-84 F
Rocky Point Mexico has been known by many as Arizona’s beach and although times have changed with less tourism from Arizona we are starting to see this beautiful beachfront community getting found by people all over the US and Canada.
Beyond our unique location, Rocky Point Mexico has amazing weather 9 months out of the year. The water temperatures average 80 degrees year round with clear sunny skys and a beach that is second to none. There are a great deal of different beach front areas in Rocky Point from Mayan Palace to Cholla bay – there is truly something for everyone.
From the beautiful beach front homes in areas like Costa Diamante, Playa Encanto and Las Conchas to the amazing condos with luxury finishing like Puerta Privada www.puertaprivada.info again something for everyone. If time is limited equity shares are a great opportunity to come visit but not have to pay nearly as much. With 1/8th shares consisting of 6 weeks for your usage spread out evenly through the year – we often say if you can get out of town and on the beach 6 times a year you are doing great.
To do in Rocky Point – the options are endless but here are a couple, hanging out on the beach with family and friends. If there was a top ten this would definitely be number one. Why because due to our busy schedules it happens less than we would all like. Beyond this great past time we have ATV rentals, sunset cruises, amazing common areas at our projects with swim up bars and lazy rivers, great restaurants, clubs and top shelf sunsets that require minimal activity ( watching ).
The best is yet to come for Rocky Point and although we are off to a great start we have a ways to go. The real opportunity is the one most only see after it is to late with those common words I wish I would have known then what I know now. The prices are awesome and lots to chose from.
Give us a call and let us help you in living the good life down here in Rocky Point Mexico.
It’s a good life!

What is Remax Legacy Rocky Point?
CONVICTIONS WE LIVE BY…………………………………….
“Because your time is valuable” we, the RE/MAX Legacy team want to give you the best service possible, “service with integrity” from start to finish is our core value. RE/MAX Legacy is your partner in pursuing the opportunity to build your real estate portfolio and live your dream one property at a time.
RE/MAX Legacy is a family owned business and our team is an extension of our family. We have owned a home in Rocky Point for 30 years and have had the franchise as a family business for almost 5. Prior to opening RE/MAX Legacy we visited Rocky Point for long week-ends and holiday vacations enjoying the sea and sand, authentic Spanish tacos, fresh fish and so much more with our family and friends. We have special memories watching our children and grandchildren grow up by the seashore in Rocky Point. We, Grant, Judy, Grant and Branden formulated the plan to open our “Legacy” sitting around a kitchen table in October 2004. We all shared “why” we wanted to do it and from there knew the “how” would come.
A “hiccup” came when Branden found out he had to go back to Iraq for another tour of duty rather than finishing his military career the beginning of 2005. Grant, Grant and I decided we would “go for it” the 3 of us for a year until Branden’s return. We opened our Mexican Corporation Legacy Partners SA DE CV and our first office in February 2005.
As partners we are dedicated to quality in what we do, pride in who we are and freedom to make a difference in the lives we touch. Our RE/MAX Legacy family is a tenacious team producing an innovative level of standards. With our family environment we create a work place that is fun and fulfilling.
Earning the respect of our internal and external clients one day at a time we “win the day”! We are never too busy for your referrals.
Yvette, Grant “Jr’s” girlfriend, then fiancĂ© and now wife joined us in the spring and one of our dreams came true when Grant and Yvette were married on the beach at Mayan Palace March 3, 2007. It was a “Kodak” event. The best is yet to come. Grant and Yvette are expecting their first child.
Branden came home in March of 2006 bringing with him one of Branden’s dreams his 1965 Chevy Truck. Once in Rocky Point Branden went to the University in Hermisillo for a month long emersion Spanish class. Branden’s second dream was about to come true. He met Reyna Molina, his future bride, the woman he’d been waiting for all his life. On October 13, 2007 Branden and Reyna had a traditional Spanish wedding in the church where Reyna’s parents were married in Matepa, Mexico.
Whether you’re building a family “legacy”, vacation tradition, looking for an investment opportunity of a lifetime, securing a location for a 2nd home, wanting to have a fun getaway week-ed or lazy day at the beach you can find it in Rocky Point, Mexico. The local restaurants offer an abundance of choices for all age groups, at all time. You can find a cozy beach cafĂ©, a breakfast buffet with a view of the sea, a sports bar, taco stands, bakeries, coffee houses and, of course, excellent Mexican cuisine throughout our seaside community.
Here’s the view from a few members of our team: “As I grow older, I pay less attention on what people say, I just watch what they do” My reason for joining the RE/MAX team was carefully thought out because I have seen what they do and this team is all on the same page----INTEGRITY is first. Bill Barvitski, Sales Agent.
Why RE/MAX??? “RE/MAX is a family real estate venture, built on Values. Our family treats me with COMPASSION—giving from the bottom of their hearts, RESPECT—treating others as you would want to be treated, and SUPPORT—promoting and providing real estate education and knowledge, uniting every other week for TEAM – (Together Everyone Accomplishes More – the Canoe Theory) meetings. We all paddle in unison. Our canoe has room for you. Susie Flinn, Sales Agent
In February of 2008 RE/MAX Legacy became the on-site real estate company for Puerta Privada the only non rental condominium development on Sandy Beach. With palm trees, beautiful flowers and lawn enhancing your view of the swimming pools, beach, ocean and our quaint fishing village Puerta Privada is a piece of paradise. Take a look www.puertaprivada.info you’ll want to stay forever.
Tradition marches on, choices and changes continue to be part of our Legacy. We, the RE/MAX Legacy family team want to be your real estate company of choice today, tomorrow and always.
